Substitution Notifications
Uh oh, one of your products was out of stock. Get help on how to handle substitution orders and notifications right here.
Setting Up Substitution Notifications
If you would like to set up specific substitution preferences, please contact your customer success representative at Promenade.
At this time, we offer the following options when it comes to the substitution of unavailable products:
- Enable/Disable Substitution Preferences
- Enabling this will allow substitutions on orders when a product may be unavailable

If your substitution preferences is set to enabled, the above is what you will see

Set your substitution preferences to disabled if you do not want to offer substitutions for unavailable products
- Substitution Policy
- You may choose to customize your own substitution policy if you’d like, just let our team know!

If you decide to not have a custom substitution policy, the above default policy text will apply
Handling Substitution Orders
Now that you’ve got your substitution preferences set up, it’s time to handle those substitution orders.
You go about that by adjusting the order and:
- Removing the unavailable product from the order
- Adding the substitute product to the order
